Early Intervention
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that the initial orthodontic evaluation should occur at the first sign of orthodontic problems or no later than age 7—and we agree! At an early age, Dr. Stoyanova can evaluate your child’s jaw growth, help lower the risk of trauma for protruded front teeth, correct harmful oral habits, help guide permanent teeth into a more favorable position, and detect the need for future treatment.
When early orthodontic intervention is not necessary, Dr. Stoyanova will want to continue to monitor your child’s growth and tooth eruption closely so that if treatment is indicated we can start when it is just the right time for their individual needs. Our Rising Stars Club is totally complimentary and a great way to help your child feel comfortable and a part of our orthodontic family.
First Visit
Your first visit with us will be fun! You will get to meet our team and tour our office. Our highly skilled doctor will perform a comprehensive exam, create a customized orthodontic plan to help meet your personal and clinical needs, and of course, answer any and all questions you may have. Our knowledgeable treatment coordinators will be there to guide you through the entire process—from treatment logistics to all things financial.
Rest assured that we will help you navigate your insurance and flexible spending accounts if applicable. If not, our office offers interest-free payments over the course of treatment to help make your dream smile a reality.
Kids & Teens
What?! I need braces?! Don’t worry! Braces are more comfortable (and stylish!) than they used to be. It is also always easier to go through treatment with your friends and while you are growing and changing. For those not wanting braces, Invisalign Teen may also be an option.
We love our kids and teens and our #1 goal is to create smiles to last a lifetime. Treatment doesn’t just mean esthetics– in fact, orthodontic treatment can improve jaw relationships and overall function. A poor bite may affect the way you smile, chew, clean your teeth or feel about your smile for the rest of your life.
Adult Treatment
The function and appearance of your smile is a very important part of your life and who you are. It is never too late to join the one third of our patients that are currently in adult orthodontic treatment with either Invisalign or braces. Our new scanners have made impressions a thing of the past, so orthodontic treatment continues to become more and more comfortable for our patients. Some of the benefits of later treatment include healthier teeth and gums, boosted self-confidence, and prevention of future dental problems. If you have ever considered changing your smile, please contact our office so you can hear about your options. Almost all of our adult orthodontic patients finish treatment and say, “I don’t know why I didn’t do this sooner!”
After Care & Retention
Orthodontic treatment is an investment and retainers are critical to protect that investment. Your final orthodontic result depends on your retainers, so it is important to follow through with excellent retainer wear. Remember:
- Wear your retainer as instructed by our team
- Don’t forget our golden rule of if it’s not in your face, it’s in your case as pets sometimes think retainers are snacks
- Remove your retainer before brushing, and brush your retainer before placing it back in your mouth
- Call us ASAP if a retainer gets lost or broken
- Always bring your retainer to your appointments
