Dr. Stoyanova
Dr. Joanna Stoyanova started her dental career as an orthodontic assistant with hopes of attending dental school. After completion of undergrad, she was accepted to dental school at Ohio State University. Following dental school, she served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force where she completed a one-year residency program in Advanced Education in General Dentistry in Washington, D.C. After five years of military service, she began an orthodontic residency program at the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Stoyanova is originally from Bulgaria and has lived in six different countries! After moving multiple times for both the Air Force and her education, she is excited to finally plant her roots in Oregon. Dr. Stoyanova is married to her husband Matt, also a former Air Force dentist, who continues to serve military veterans as a dentist at the Portland VA hospital.
In their free time, Dr. Stoyanova and her husband enjoy traveling, gardening, hiking, skiing, and all the other outdoor activities that the beautiful Northwest has to offer.
Dr. Phillips
Dr. Phillips is a true Oregonian at heart. He has practiced dentistry for over 30 years. He was raised in Beaverton, graduated from Beaverton High School, and then attended Oregon State University. Following college, he continued his professional education at the OHSU School of Dentistry, where he graduated with both clinical and academic honors. Dan then served in the Air Force and completed a General Practice Residency at Travis Air Force in California. Following his service, he returned to Portland and earned his Orthodontic Specialty Certificate from OHSU.
Dr. Phillips is an active member in countless dental organizations and study clubs. He has served as President of the Oregon State Society of Orthodontics, Clackamas County Dental Society, and the OHSU Orthodontic Alumni Association. Additionally, Dan is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and is Board Certified. He is the proud father of two girls and has been married to his wife, Tanya for 35 years. Dan enjoys cooking, traveling, and the outdoors.
